(Archived) CRNA'S NEEDED FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS IN WEST HAVEN, CT

We are looking for two CRNA's to provide coverage for at least 6 months at the VAMC in West Haven, CT. Work Schedule - The times and days may vary but primarily will be required during the hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Sunday through Saturday and/or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday: using a combination of 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. Call is not required for this position. Duties include, but not limited to: Pre-anesthetic patient assessment by conducting and documenting an appropriate anesthetic history and physical examination; ordering appropriate consults and diagnostic tests; selecting anesthetic pre-medications and fluids; developing and implementing an anesthetic plan; obtaining consent for administration of anesthesia; initiating an anesthetic technique as appropriate, including but not limited to: general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care (MAC); regional anesthesia; local anesthesia; selecting, applying, and inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring devices for continuous evaluation of patient physical status (as permitted by privileges); administration of anesthesia, adjust drugs and fluids as appropriate for the care of the patient; managing immediate post-anesthesia care as needed including: pain management; fluid administration; respiratory support; transfer of care to the PACU or ICU as needed; post-anesthesia follow-up and documentation; airway management as part of code response team; emergency core duties may be required for patients with life-threatening situations when a physician is not immediately available and/or CRNA assignment to code response team and may include: CPR; treatment of acute respiratory failure; treatment of immediate life threatening injuries. The contractor functions under the organizational supervision of an anesthesiologist in both inpatient and outpatient settings at the West Haven Campus.
