Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner - (ENP) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 01/01/2015Available Shifts: Varied Shift

This Veterans Affairs Medical Center seeks qualified nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants to fill in on a locum tenens basis while regular staff recruitment efforts are in progress. Shifts vary in length, up to 16 hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The assignment will commence immediately upon the completion of credentialing and last on an ongoing basis.

An emergency medicine nurse practitioner (ENP)(locum tenens) provides urgent and emergency care to patients within all age ranges. They are trained to manage trauma, chronic and acute illness, and to utilize life-saving technology to stabilize patients. ENPs generally work within hospital settings, ambulances, and urgent care facilities. An emergency medicine nurse practitioner helps decide where to refer patients for follow up care and collaborates with physicians to determine the best treatment plan available.

Required Qualifications
The mid-level provider shall be certified by an applicable national certifying body, have an active BLS, ACLS, and DEA, and have an active license from any US state.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the veteran population is considered a plus.
