Hospital in Hawaii is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for Level III NICU

Highlights:

• 18 bed NICU.
• Rotate 10 hour shifts, at times, You will be there for 24 hours. There is a call room for sleeping and there will always be back up on nights.

To be considered you should have:
• MSN – Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with certification
• 2+ years of NNP experience
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Valid Hawaii RN License (must meet education requirement(s) for Hawaii State licensure
• Valid Hawaii APRN Recognition (must meet education requirement(s) for Hawaii State recognition)
• Current BLS and CPR
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code required at time of hire
• Valid Hawaii Prescriptive Authority

Your Day:
• Patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and technical procedures to a group of normal-to-high risk infants; interprets antenatal/perinatal health history; assesses gestational age
• Rounds on designated patients
• Manage neonatal caseload with physician consultation and collaboration
• Serve as patient and family advocate in identifying healthcare needs and actions for neonatal cases
• Coordinates pre- and post-operative care activities for normal-to-high risk infants
• Support neonatal units during crisis situations
• Planning, implementation, and evaluation in formulating neonatal diagnosis and intervention
• Resuscitation of newborns in delivery room and in Neonatal Units with use of bag and mask, laryngoscopy, endotracheal intubation, cardiac compressions, intravenous access and emergency medications
• Physical exams and evaluations on infants in the Delivery, Neonatal and Mother-Baby Units
• Specialized procedures on high-risk infants to include umbilical artery and vein catheterization, endotracheal intubation, suprapubic bladder tap, lumbar puncture, peripheral central venous catheterization, peripheral artery catheterization, needle aspiration of pneumothorax, sepsis work-ups and other procedures following clinical competencies for advanced practice
