Loyal Source Government Services is currently hiring a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital located in Fort Campbell, KY to work as a civilian contractor. Qualifications: • Possess a current, valid and unrestricted license to practice as a NP in at least one state in the United States. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner shall have the required experience and documented current competence in the clinical setting to perform the tasks and procedures identified in this PWS. • Shall have and maintain current certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support,(BCLS). In addition to (BCLS) certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for the Critical Care Unit and Emergency Room, certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) of NNP’s working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Newborn Nursery, and Labor and [Register to View] substitute for American Heart Association certification will be allowed. • All required life support training requirements must be completed at the time the contract provider presents to BACH to begin working, the. Contract providers may attend the MTF’s life support classes to obtain recertification. • Possess national certification as a NP. • Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current registration as a registered nurse. • Be a graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree program in Neonatal Nursing. Special Note: This requirement may be waived by the Deputy Commander for Nursing (DCN) and/or the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services (DCCS) on a case –by-case basis based on a review of experience, professional credentials and an onsite visit with the candidate. • All contract NNP’s shall meet standards set forth in the specialty in which they are licensed or registered. • Shall comply with the (CEU) requirements of the state where they hold a license to practice as a NP and as required by BACH bylaws, the greater of the two. Proof of CEU attendance shall be provided by the NP to the credentials office at least quarterly • NP’s shall have a minimum of one year experience within the last three years working as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. • Shall have a Master of Science in Nursing • Be a graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree program in Neonatal Nursing. Special Note: This requirement may be waived by the Deputy Commander for Nursing (DCN) and/or the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services (DCCS) on a case –by-case basis based on a review of experience, professional credentials and an onsite visit with the candidate • Provides independent primary comprehensive and therapeutic health care services, to include examining, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in the Mother Baby Unit (MBU) and the Special Care Nursery (SCN). Attends all deliveries in Labor and Delivery. • Shifts for NNP’s will typically be 8-12 hrs including weekends and holidays Scope of Work: • Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose,mtreat, and counsel patients as indicated). • Treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in collaboration with a physician. • Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses. • Order diagnostic tests as applicable. • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. • Ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations.
