(Archived) Perm NP needed for weekends
Job Description
Part-time, weekend need for a NP in the Chicago area with Primary care, or hospitalist experience. Will be providing In-patient medical care to patients in Psych/behavioral health hospital Will cover every Saturday and Sunday starting at 7am and round on in-patients. Usually takes 6-8 hours each day. Approximately 20 patients per day between new patients and follow-ups. Will perform medical eval on new admits and treat patients already in hospital for primary care, asthma, diabetes and other chronic illnesses. The physician will determine who is admitted and patients won't be on IV or oxygen or require a high level of medical care. Must have an IL license and controlled substance license, No DEA is required as you will not be required to prescribe narcotics or treat for pain. It's a freestanding facility that does not have lab or xrays on-site. There is an Adult area and also a Children's Pavilion that are right next to each other. Providers will service patients at both places so must be comfortable seeing patients that are 8 yrs of age and up.
