Job Description: As a Vericare Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in geriatrics, you will join approximately 400+ clinicians who work near and far- in nursing homes within our 8 regions. (CA, TX, IN, TN, FL, NJ, DE, and PA). Whatever region you are in, know this: You will make a tremendous difference in the quality of life for our Geriatric population.
Our Nurse Practitioners assess, plan, evaluate, implement and coordinate care of psychiatric patients, including medication management, education and support for patients.

Other Duties can include:
• Assess patients mental and physical status based on symptoms.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, or nursing staff, to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans.
• Consult with psychiatrists or other professionals when unusual or complex cases are encountered.
• Develop and implement treatment plans.
• Distinguish between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose appropriately.
• Prescribes appropriate medications for physical and mental health issues. Will plan and institute a course of treatment demonstrating knowledge of drug action, interaction, and reactions. Prescribes or recommends controlled medications according to existing core privileges.
Desired Skills: MSN-Psychiatric/Mental Health, Gerontological, Family or Adult Specialty. ANCC certification. Psychotropic medication management experience.
Preferred: Psychotropic medication management with a geriatric population.
