Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - (NP-Primary Care) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Physician Assistant's or Nurse Practitioner's to cover as soon as possible for 120 working days each. Must have Texas State License. Work hours are M-F 7:30am-4:00pm. Diagnose and treat inmates, provide sick call and triage duties, distributing and educating inmates about medical supplies. Dispensing medications as needed during pill line. Conduct PPD screenings. Evaluate inmates during medical emergencies and consulting with on-call physician about utilizing hospital services. All recommendations will be made to the Clinical Director who will retain professional responsibility for patients referred. BLS. No DEA Required. Working with 1 Physician and another Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

A primary care nurse practitioner (locum tenens) diagnoses and treat patients, order diagnostics, conduct physical exams, interpret x-rays and other tests, and also educate patients on maintaining proper health. In addition to a nursing license, a primary care nurse practitioner holds a certification as a nurse practitioner, and typically a master's degree. A primary care nurse practitioner works with physicians on duty to help evaluate and treat patients.
