An urgent care nurse practitioner (locum tenens) provides care and clinical management of patients within an urgent care setting. These practitioners manage a multitude of responsibilities to include; recording patient history, performing physical examinations, prescribing medications, diagnostic testing, and developing treatment plans. An urgent care nurse practitioner also will participate in case management and continuing care for patients.
