(Archived) Director of Nursing Curriculum
Job Description
In collaboration with the National Director and other key nursing stakeholders including advisory councils, and internal stakeholders, the Director of Nursing Curriculum establishes a vision of each degree program. He/she designs, develops and maintains college curriculum, and monitors performance to ensure program quality and student success. The Director of Nursing Curriculum is responsible for the overall performance and marketability of assigned courses, assessments, and degree programs. The Director of Nursing Curriculum relies heavily on student engagement and performance data as well as student and faculty feedback to measure the effectiveness of courses, learning resources, assessments, and degree programs. The Director of Nursing Curriculum uses these data to ensure the overall health and quality of program curriculum. He or she recommends development and maintenance and new development projects for each program in collaboration with the National Director. Director of Nursing Curriculum collaborates with college Councils, National Directors, marketing staff, and other university stakeholders to constantly monitor and react to market demand and workforce needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze Program data
Conduct ongoing data-driven program analysis to determine strategic maintenance and development projects for short- and long-term plans.
Monitor course pass and completion rates for areas of concern and report quarterly to National Director and University Leadership using established tools and systems.
Gather recommendations and feedback from Councils and National Director(s.)
Monitor enrollment and graduation rates/trends.
Create High Level Development Plans for Projects
Work with Project manager to develop a schedule and assign resources.
Collaborate with Sr. Mentor Manager for the college to secure and deploy mentor resources for course development, maintenance or revision.
Ensure alignment with competencies and program needs, as appropriate
Ensure mapping of competencies to align with national standards required for accreditation or program approvals by external bodies.
Draft proposed competencies, degrees plans, and standard paths.
Seeks review and approval of draft competencies, degree plans and standard paths from National Director and Advisory Councils.
Assemble working group of professionals in the field (SMEs) to review and approve new program requirements before initiating development work.
Secure necessary approvals from National Director and other university leaders to initiate development projects.
Collaborate with the ND and Sr. Mentor managers for nurisng to consider operational implications of new plans and associated mentoring resources.
Ensure accreditation compliance, review, and reporting needs are met.
Is responsible for developing the annual analysis of the systematic evaluation plans (SEP) for accreditation and degrees in accordance with the SEP plan.
Use program expertise to approve development deliverables.
Ensure compliance and competency mapping with accreditation standards for new development.
Schedule and manage ongoing program reviews. Work with Accreditation team and the National Director to address any compliance updates, needs, or concerns in a timely manner.
Lead the way in setting a standard of excellence for WGU courses and degree programs.
Know each and every course and program, its content, supporting faculty, and learning resources.
Seek new ways to improve programs, close learning gaps and strengthen the student learning experience.
Work with WGU’s Learning Resource Specialists to identify and adopt cutting edge educational technology.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
At least 4 years of progressive management experience and at least two years of experience in managing and leading teams with a proven track record of accomplishments
Prior curriculum development experience preferred
Unencumbered registered nurse license and prior nursing practice experience
Master’s required, Doctorate degree preferred
Background in online learning is a plus
This position is based in Salt Lake City
Travel requirements vary
