This NICU unit boasts the latest in advanced technology housed within a caring and effective patient care model!
There are 15 beds on this NICU level 2 unit with an average daily census of 8.
Medications that the NICU RN would be administering are:
Dopamine, Fentanyl, Insulin Drips, Survanta, Theophylline, Morphine Drips, Dobutamine Drips, Pavulon, Chloral Hydrate, Phenobarbital, Prostaglandin Drip, Adenosine, Epinephrine, Sodium Bicarbonate, Narcan
Procedures that a NICU RN would be performing on this unit are:
Circumcisions, umbillical vein catheterization, PICC Lines, Chest Tubes, Endotracheal Intubations, Newborn Hearing Screening, Lumbar Puncture
On this unit NICU RN's will also be using the following equipment:
Ventilators, C-R monitors, Biliblankets, Bililights, syringe
pumps, IVAC Infusion pumps, pulse oximeter, Newborn Hearing Screening machine, infant/neonate transporters, isolettes, Radiant Warmers.

Neonatal intensive care nurses (NICU nurses) working in the Level II nursery provide care for babies (ranging from newborns to month-olds) who require special care or close monitoring. The Level II NICU is an intermediate-care nursery that provides care such as supplemental oxygen, specialized feedings, intravenous therapy, or simply time to mature for premature or sick babies. Level II nurses also teach parents about medications or special procedures that the babies will require after discharge.

Housed on a 39-acre campus, this technologically advanced, this 215-bed facility is a regional specialty center for lung volume reduction surgery, neonatal intensive care, and pediatric surgery, and is also a center for melanoma and renal cell carcinoma management. Also on-site: 14 labor and delivery beds and an occupational health center.
