We presently have a need for Registered Nurses (General Medicine) at the Portsmouth VA Naval Medical Center, Boone Clinic.
Duties include, but are not all inclusive:
- Manage the care of patients through application of the nursing process in compliance with Command, JCAHO and professional standards of nursing care.
- Oversee and provide direct patient care, foster growth of less experienced staff, and facilitate an interdisciplinary team concept
- Evaluate staff assignments based on patient acuity, unique needs of the patients, equipment requirements and staff competencies
- Assure that comprehensive plans of care are implemented based on individualized application of the nursing process
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Diploma Graduate Degree in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Possess and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Have obtained the minimum experience working in a clinical inpatient setting
