We presently have a need for a Registered Nurse (Gen Surg) at the Portsmouth VA Naval Medical Center, Boone Clinic.
Duties include, but are not all inclusive:
- Evaluate assignmetns based on patient acuity, unique needs of the patient, equipment requirements and competency of staff and recommend changes based on their experience and patient needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with team members to ensure patient's needs are addressed across the continuum care
- Set up, operate and monitor equipment used in the care of patients
This position requires:
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Diploma Graduate Degree in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing.
- A current unrestricted NY state license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Have obtained the minimum experience working in a surgical unit or emergency room of similar size and complexity
