(Archived) Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing
Job Description
The Assistant/Associate Professor teaches and motivates students by developing appropriate teaching methods, as well as imparting substantive knowledge; strives to stimulate learning and actively seeks advancement of teaching and learning processes; demonstrates knowledge of subject, and incorporates new developments in the field into teaching; develops new learning assessment techniques, new courses/programs, and new teaching materials; delivers lectures and facilitates group discussion using active learning methods; takes leadership role in course evaluation and revision to improve existing course; teaches students practice site skills such as patient counseling, interaction with providers and practice site management; develops practice site and oversees student learning; provides guidance of individual student research projects; makes scholarly contributions to their fields of specialization, which may include the area of teaching and learning; contributes a portion of their time and expertise to college, professional and community service, which may involve helping student groups, serving on committees, aiding in administrative work within the college or providing similar services to professional or public groups outside the college. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Required: A minimum of a master\'s degree in nursing; RN licensure (or eligibility) in MA; nursing education experience at the baccalaureate level; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Desired: An earned doctoral degree in nursing or a relevant discipline.
