(Archived) Licensed Practical Nurse

Required Qualifications:

Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Must have LPN license.
Have at a minimum of 1 years experience working with pediatric and adolescent individuals.
Have at a minimum 6 months experience working in educational settings.
Have at a minimum 6 months experience with provision of nursing services in accordance with the implementation of IEPs and/or Individualized health Plans (IHPs).
Able to provide continuity of care with regard to medical procedures to be competed in the student’s educational setting as a follow-up to medical procedures conducted outside of school.

Scheduling Details:

Services shall be provided during the regular school year. The regular school year hours are between 0800 and 3:30 (except Wednesdays 8:00 to 2:30) excluding lunch, on days when classes are in session. Reference school calendar at [Register to View] Extended School year services consist of 20 additional half days (4 hours per day) during the summer recess.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Provide Nursing Services for up to 3 students in accordance with Case Study Committee (CSC) recommendations for students in grades PK through 8.
Provide continuity of care.
Provide consultative services to staff, parents, and students.
Perform observations, and screenings at school, per guidance of SPED Coordinator.
Write evaluation reports to include observations, findings and educational implications within prescribed timelines when required.
Provide general training, for school staff on behavioral strategies, signs and symptoms of medical distress/emergencies associated with medical issues of the assigned child, data collection, data analysis, and positive interventions required to proactively support access to the educational setting.
Provide, as needed, individual written reports to include a description of services provided during each session.
