JOB SUMMARY:

Conducting comprehensive and customized travel health consultations as part of Concentras Travel Health program by providing vaccinations, medications, and general and destination specific counseling. At all times ensuring compliance with international travel requirements and health regulations as well as being in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures.

Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service by putting all customers (internal and external) first and displaying:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct comprehensive travel health consultations which includes a detailed risk assessment, risk communication, and risk management:
  • Assessing the health risks associated with the travelers detailed itinerary and activities by using epidemiological data provided by Travax, CDC, and other resources in travel medicine.
  • Assessing the health risks of the planned travel, as well as the benefits and risks of vaccines and medications, based on the travelers personal medical and vaccine history, allergies, medications and risk tolerance.
  • Effectively communicating the health risks to the traveler..
  • Developing and executing a risk management plan by administering vaccines and prescribing medication for the prevention and/or self- treatment of various travel related diseases and conditions.
  • Counseling on other preventive measures and safety issues including but not limited to prevention of insect and waterborne diseases, altitude sickness, food and water safety, animal bites and rabies avoidance, accident prevention, jet lag, deep vein thrombosis, fever precautions, drugs and alcohol use, sexually transmitted diseases, environmental exposures, and medical evacuation insurance.
• Creation of a personalized comprehensive travel health packet specific to a patients itinerary which includes information such as health issues, travel advisories, and emergency services at his/her destination.
• Prescribing, dispensing, ordering, and/or administering medications, blood tests, products and/or vaccines as directed by a physician and in accordance with state regulations.
• Adhering to all Travel Health standing orders, and clinical and vaccine policies and procedures. Vaccine policies and procedures include ensuring proper and adequate supply, storage, administration, and documentation.
• Maintaining and operating clinical equipment, including calibration and record-keeping, in accordance with current policy and procedures.
• Meet and/or exceed the minimal standards in training, experience, and CME as put forth by the Travel Health/Infectious Disease MEP.
• Overseeing and actively participating in the quality, promotion and support of all Travel Health services and Travel Health marketing and sales initiatives performed in and/or on behalf of the Center and Company.
• Perform other clinical duties as assigned may be center based or other onsite events and venues. .

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an approved program
• Current State License in good standing
• Certificate of Travel Health (CTH)(preferred but not required)
• Completion of short and/or long courses in travel medicine
• Membership in specialty society dealing with travel and tropical medicine (example: ISTM, ATHNA) (preferred but not required)
