This position is responsible for medical leadership for all Cloud specialty medical directors and directing the Wellpath Now Emergency Optimization Program. This position provides both direct and supervisory patient emergent medical assessment and care by collaborating with onsite clinical staff and providing telehealth triage and treatment decisions. This position also provides on-call responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

  • Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years post residency clinical experience in emergency medicine preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licensed in states where direct patient care occurs.
  • Must be willing to add licenses in states where services are requested.
  • Holding additional licenses is a benefit.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications.
  • Board certified or eligible in emergency medicine.
  • Coordinates with the VP of Healthcare Cloud to manage the three divisions including Wellpath Now, Wellpath Care Management and Wellpath Center of Excellence.
  • Medical owner of best practices and clinical programs in Healthcare Cloud
  • Assists VP of Healthcare Cloud in strategic decisions for new products and care paradigms
  • Creates a scalable team to consider quality and total cost of care for operation of Wellpath Now
  • Rapidly responds to telehealth calls and remotely assesses patients’ physical and acute psychiatric health to determine triage and treatment decisions.
  • Collaborates with onsite medical staff to facilitate physical and acute psychiatric examinations, lab evaluations, x-rays and EKG, as needed.
  • Provides outside referrals as indicated.
  • Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of all assessment.
  • Provides clinical oversight of assessment and reassessment, ongoing provision of care activities, and completion of all associated documentation by ARNPs.
  • Provides on-call coverage for after-hours care of patients.
  • Treats medical problems including pharmacotherapy.
  • Makes referrals for tests and consultations and follows-up on results and recommendations.
  • Provides education on the medical diagnoses to patients and onsite medical staff.
  • Collaborates and communicates with staff in other disciplines in an effective and professional manner.
  • Understands and complies with special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting.
  • Is knowledgeable about care and treatment needs of patients of different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span developmental needs of each patients.
  • Creates and assists the VP of Quality in a quality review process that is both proactive to prevent quality care issues and retrospective to review and mitigate future occurrences of clinical quality concerns
