- Handling patient questions during visits and via phone, providing advice and resolving problems in consultation with Ophthalmologist
- Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and sterilizing ophthalmic instruments and equipment as indicated
- Assisting the Physicians in performing in-office ophthalmic procedures
- Transcribing Physician's dictation into patient electronic medical record, as directed by the Physician according to Local, State and Federal guidelines
- Monitoring inventory of supplies and restocks as necessary
- Ensuring medication and treatment items are not expired
- Oversee daily assignments and workflow of the Eye Institute
- Lead orientation and training, and check work of new technical staff
- Perform ophthalmic tests and procedures with proficiency in the ophthalmic sub-specialties
- Report findings of tests and procedures according to established policy, such as Schirmer tear test or equivalent, Visual acuity (Distance), Visual acuity (Near), Potential visual acuity, Advanced slit lamp examinations, Refractometry, Worth 4 dots tests, Independent Ultrasound A-scan tests, CVF (confrontation), Topography
