Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Point of Care Coordinator / Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join a growing healthcare team near Sheldon, VT.
This position functions as a laboratory generalist across all laboratory sections while providing advanced technical and administrative oversight of point-of-care testing performed both in-house and at health system-owned practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong laboratory experience, a background in point-of-care testing, and the ability to provide technical guidance, quality oversight, and staff education in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing across multiple laboratory sections as a generalist.

Provide technical and administrative oversight of point-of-care testing throughout the health system.

Oversee point-of-care testing performed in-house and at health system-owned practices.

Perform specimen processing and diagnostic testing according to established procedures.

Conduct instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.

Establish and monitor quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.

Train and educate staff on point-of-care testing procedures, instrumentation, quality control, and regulatory requirements.

Assist with implementation and evaluation of new testing methodologies and equipment.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.

Monitor testing practices and help ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Collaborate with laboratory leadership, clinical staff, and healthcare providers to support high-quality patient care.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to laboratory and point-of-care personnel.
Qualifications

College degree required.
-
ASCP certification required.

Prior Medical Laboratory Scientist/Laboratory Technologist experience required.

Previous point-of-care testing experience required.

Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, instrumentation, and regulatory standards.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while providing effective support and training to clinical staff.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
