(Archived) Certified Nursing Assistant
Job Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide personal healthcare and related services to the client in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with client and family and report observations and problems with the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant License required.
- At least one (l) year experience, preferred, as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home or home health agency, AND completion of Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance .
- Proof of current CPR, and Hepatitis consent/declination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively.
- Demonstrates interest in the welfare of ill and elderly.
- Works in client’s homes in various conditions, possible exposure to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexibly schedule, ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.
- Practice accepted infection control policies.
- Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication to client/family and other employees
- Provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment which promotes respect for client, privacy and property
- Provide skills necessary to assist the client with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake
- Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency by participating in educational opportunities. Attends 12 hours of in-services per year
