Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a premier hospital team providing both inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care in California.

This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside highly specialized neuro teams caring for complex surgical and ICU patients in a collaborative, high-acuity environment.

📍 Position Highlights

-Contract Length: 26 weeks, with the option to extend and possibility for locums to perm.
-Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
-Shift: Full-Time | 5x8s

🏥 Practice Setting
-Hospital-based
-Inpatient & Outpatient Neurosurgery
-Adult patient population
-EMR: Epic

🧠 What You'll Be Doing
-This role offers a dynamic mix of inpatient neuro management and outpatient post-op care.

Inpatient Responsibilities:
-Manage complex neurosurgical patients
-Neuro ICU coverage
-Brain tumor & meningioma patient management
-Care for high-acuity transfers from surrounding facilities
-Assist with drains and bedside procedures

Outpatient Responsibilities:
-Post-operative follow-up care
-Imaging and scan ordering
-Case management and coordination
-Ongoing neurosurgical patient support

Procedures:
-Pulling drains required
-Training available for EVD drain removal

📊 Patient Volume
-Daily census ranges from 8–20 patients
-Volume fluctuates based on transfers and facility acuity

✅ Requirements
-Active California License required
-California DEA required (Schedule II/2N)
-BLS Certification required

NP Candidates Must Have One Of:
-ACNP-BC
-AGACNP-BC
-ACNPC-AG
-ACNPC

PA Candidates:
-Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies required

💼 Experience Needed
-Minimum 1–2 years of experience in:
-Neurosurgery OR
-Complex surgical floors
-Neuro ICU experience may also be considered
