Description
Under the general direction of a dean, a Student Health Center Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Health Services program, including medical care, mental health, and health education activities, and coordinating the delivery of comprehensive health services to students in accordance with state and federal program regulations.

There is currently one academic tenure-track position with the initial assignment being located at Moorpark College starting during the Fall 2020 semester. All academic employees are subject to assignment in any college of the District depending upon staffing needs as defined within the terms of the VCCCD/AFT Agreement. Nontraditional assignments such as evening, weekend, or off-site assignments may be made with consent of faculty member, management or when special conditions exist on a campus as defined within the terms of the VCCCD/AFT agreement.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The annual salary is based on an eleven 11 month contract. Salary is commensurate with academic preparation and experience for placement on the salary schedule. Maximum advanced salary placement credit for prior experience is 7 steps.

Fringe benefits include family medical, dental and vision insurance plans.

Representative Duties
Coordinate delivery of comprehensive health services to students in accordance with state and federal program regulations. E

Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Health Services program (including medical care, mental health and health education activities). Includes hiring and coordination of all work schedules. E

Assess, intervene, and refer students with chronic illness, disease, and physical or emotional conditions to community health organizations for screening and treatment as necessary.

Monitor and evaluate program goals, objectives, achievements, and effectiveness; collect, analyze and maintain health information, student records, and statistical data; prepare reports related to program operations, activities and progress as required by college district, county, state, and federal regulations.

Assist license medical care providers in providing care to sick and injured students; administer first aid and initial emergency care, and provide crisis intervention. E

Prepare budgets, monitor status of program funds and account for proper expenditures. E

Report health and safety issues to assigned administrator and appropriate agency for the purpose of maintaining student's personal safety, community safety, promoting a positive learning environment, and compliance with regulatory requirements. E.

Plan and assist in delivering health education programs that promote wellness and the prevention of illness and injury; distribute information campus-wide regarding communicable disease control programs and services. E

Counsel students on health conditions and lifestyle issues (e.g. mental health, pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating a healthier student population.

Review and process student accident insurance claims. E

Provide input to assigned Dean evaluating the performance of program staff. E

Provide work direction to others. E

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook:

Master's degree in nursing AND a California Public Health Nurse certificate OR Bachelor's degree in nursing, a California Public Health Nurse certificate AND a Master's degree in health education, sociology, psychology, counseling, health care administration, public health or community health.

All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

$57,982.10 - $121,754.60

If the qualifying degree has yet to be conferred and you expect to have the degree before you begin employment, you must submit transcripts that state the title of the degree you are working toward obtaining and indicate the anticipated completion date in your response to the associated supplemental question provided during the application process. Diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. An official copy of your transcripts will be required upon being hired. Instructors will not be allowed to start working until official transcripts have been received.
