Job Description

Full-Time Payroll Specialist with three to five years’ experience in a multi-state environment, to include HRIS support, payroll database management, payroll journals and compliance. Under supervision of the Sr. Director of Payroll, Compensation, and HRIS, the payroll specialist will support the organization's payroll function by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions/Objectives:

  • Understand all aspects of payroll in regard to payroll laws and regulations
  • Payroll journals
  • Ad Hoc reports
  • Payroll database management
  • audit of system
  • 403(b) transmissions
  • Holiday bonus/Service awards
  • Oversee Electronic Personnel File Management
  • HRIS support
  • Job description preparation
  • Distribution of HR/Payroll communications
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent education and training.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in multi-state environment, to include HRIS support, payroll database management, payroll journals and compliance.
  • Experienced in HRIS/automated payroll systems; computer proficiency (Office 365).
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Knowledge of payroll, garnishments and benefits distribution
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Good research and analysis skills
