Job Description

Position: Patient Support Specialist
Location: San Mateo, CA & San Ramon, CA
Shift: Mon. - Fri. 7:3.0 am - 3:30 pm
Tuesdays Only - 2 locations float to one or two offices in the area (same hours)
Start: Immediately

Job Description

  • Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant and LPN/LVN preferred
  • 2-3 years of clerical/reception experience in a medical office setting
  • Serve patients by scheduling their infusion visits, maintaining EMR records, accounts and greeting them for their appointments.
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by validating eligibility, initiating and following up on prior authorizations, and notifying nurses of patient arrival.
  • Comfort patients by anticipating their needs, answering their questions, maintaining a clean and organized reception area, and maintaining inventory of basic supplies.
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by receiving, filing and retrieving patient records and mail quickly and completely.
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating insurance and personal financial information.
  • Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintain operations by following processes, procedures and reporting necessary changes.
  • Accept deliveries and route them to appropriate departments.
  • Answer incoming calls.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Prepare rooms for infusion or injection. Restock supplies as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant and LPN/LVN preferred
  • 2-3 years of clerical/reception experience in a medical office setting
  • Proactive and optimistic
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Enjoy creating a friendly atmosphere
  • Good at coordinating with others to meet collective goals
  • Enjoys interacting with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong computer skills
  • Current MA/LPN/LVN/CNA certification preferred
  • Current BLS CPR certification preferred
