(Archived) Correctional Medicine Procurement Specialist Needed in Nashville, TN

Overview
The Procurement Specialist is a key member of the procurement team responsible for strategic sourcing and tactical purchasing activities; directly supporting functional groups such as Operations, Clinical Administration, and IT. This position will be responsible for utilizing strategic sourcing levers which deliver cost reductions alongside improved service levels, managing vendor partners, and supporting internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business or finance
Experience:
- Large corporate experience is preferred.
- Must be able to manage and complete multiple projects and RFP’s driving excellent results .
Licenses/Certifications:
- None Required.
Responsibilities
- Manage contract negotiations and renewals to include RFI/RFP process to maximize enterprise wide purchasing power.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and drive for continuous savings.
- Responsibility for formulary/catalog management.
- Monitor savings and define the budget impact, including tracking planned/ achieved savings, embedding savings into corporate budgets.
- Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of sourcing strategies.
- Develop project plans and timeline for new projects or programs
- Negotiate and implement local, regional, and national agreements to support the savings and service goals of the procurement team.
- Drive contract and vendor compliance to the new and existing national agreements.
- Uphold internal and external policies (e.g. code of ethics), regulations and laws (federal, state, and local) to ensure that the behavior of organization is honest, ethical and professional
- Successful, track record in a procurement role. Healthcare procurement experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in procurement in a large-scale environment, multi-site experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from four-year College or university preferred.
- Prior supply chain, operations, or procure-to-pay experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends, identify best practices, and manage supporting contract development activities.
- Experience running multiple RFP’s and/or savings projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines with having a strong attention to detail.
- Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively, maintain composure and make decisions in stressful situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
