Our Accountant AP Specialist is responsible for the processing and payment of all invoices in accordance with the hospital’s established Accounts Payable policies and procedures. Assists in month-end closing and submits reports in a timely manner.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Accounts Payable.

  • Computer literate.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Great Plains systems preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • None required.
  1. Processes the payment of invoices in a timely manner. Reviews invoices for accuracy, proper authorization and approval.
  2. Exercises professional skepticism in the review of invoices for payment.
  3. Enters all approved invoices into Great Plains for timely payment by Corporate. Provides A/P Corporate with
  4. copies of vendor invoices upon request.
  5. Submits documentation to The Company Corporate to set up new vendors.
  6. Coordinates the Accounts Payable functions with Purchasing and Receiving.
  7. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
  8. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
  9. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
  10. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
