The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a clinical work group in an outpatient addiction recovery environment; maintains standards of professional counseling practice in accordance with clinic policies and procedures; responsible for directing care of patients, facilitation work flow, serving as a resource for staff and providing team leadership. Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities as assigned. Initiates, participates and fosters interdisciplinary team to facilitate the best patient experience and positive clinical outcome.

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university
• Master’s Degree in Behavioral or related health field

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a health or human service agency, one year of which working directly with behavioral health or addiction recovery population
• 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience

Licenses/Certifications:

• Licensure or Clinical Certification as required by state in which clinic operates

1. Complies with organizational policies, procedures and performance improvement initiatives;
2. Responsible for ensuring that medical records for patients are in full compliance with company or clinic policies, federal and state laws and regulations at all times; will review medical records to ensure compliance;
3. Communicate clearly and effectively to patients and their family members, guests and other members of the health care team;
4. Exhibits therapeutic rapport with patients maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful of personal space, giving patients direct attention and while maintaining rational detachment;
5. Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintains them over time;
6. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members;
7. Provides supervision of clinical staff and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF standards, and program guidelines and requirements pertaining to the care of patients with opioid use disorder; safeguard all forms (electronic, written and oral) of confidential information as it relates to patients, their families, medical staff and employees;
8. Provides "hands-on" training through skill demonstration and role modeling. Motivates and guides staff to identify problems and create solutions, facilitates constructive conflict resolution;
9. Makes staff assignments and creates schedules; updates support staff when changes are made;
10. Coordinates weekly staff meetings and encourages staff to utilize all patient contact as opportunities for therapeutic intervention. Participates actively in problem solving and idea sharing within department;
11. Assists in assessment of patient interest in and appropriateness for the MAT program; assists with managing MAT patient registries to promote patient care plan adherence, follow up and appointment scheduling;
12. Attends MAT collaborative meetings and team meetings;
13. Maintains a patient caseload for comprehensive therapeutic services of no more than 35 individuals;
14. Document needed patient information in an accurate, concise, and timely manner; demonstrate competence in information management in both written and electronic documentation systems;
15. Monitors counselor’s compliance with productivity requirements and develops improvement plan when requirements are not met;
16. Ensures quality patient care; conducts treatment plan reviews as needed;
17. Assists in collection and reporting of clinical and demographic data relevant to patients assigned to MAT registries; assists in collecting pertinent data related to MAT patient population from outside agencies;
18. Continues professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences and self-study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position; complies with Human Resource requirements;
19. Communicates and collaborates with providers and all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team as needed to facilitate MAT patient registries, care delivery appointments and community outreach activities;
20. Works in partnership with addiction facilities, mental health and primary care agencies toward goals of collaborated care for patients;
21. Assists with MAT grant tracking, including data entry to track MAT program accomplishments, outcomes, patient volume, revenue, etc.;
22. Performs chart audits and communicates results of audits to staff;
23. Assess level of care for patients; conducts treatment plan review as required;
24. Participate in reviews ensuring adherence to policy, best practices, and regulatory requirements;
25. Assists with the recruitment, hiring, and training of qualified clinical staff.
26. Perform other duties as assigned.
