Job Description

Clinical Nurse Employment Specialist - HR Dept. - Full Time

General job duties:
1. Maintains job applicant files for Nursing and temporary positions. Prepares internal postings and advertisements. Develops recruiting contacts with employment agencies, placement offices and search firms. Reviews job openings with Department Heads to clarify requirements.
2. Prepares invoices for payments to recruiting firms, relocation incentives, travel/interview expenses, to ensure timely payment, when necessary.
3. Screens applications, interviews (upon request) qualified applicants, and arranges for interviews with supervisory staff. Obtains references, evaluates capabilities of candidates and determines/negotiates starting salaries according to facility compensation plan guidelines. Makes job offers on behalf of facility. Assists candidate in completion of the Human Resource new hire paperwork (e.g. required forms, benefit enrollment, etc.) and makes arrangements for blood work.
4. Communicates with Department Managers to process Status Changes and meets with employees to discuss the possible impact on their benefits.
5. Is responsible for maintaining position control, vacancy log, and new hire listing. Relays necessary information to Human Resources Specialist and Division/Department Head (if applicable).
6. Assists with various benefit projects and initiatives to improve efficiency or services.
7. Develops, and updates the HR portion of Orientation for all new hires.
8. Evaluates trends in recruitment and the job market to recommend recruitment and retention strategies. Participates in career days, open houses, and other activities to attract and retain qualified candidates.
9. Makes presentations at schools, community functions and on-site locations to promote career opportunities in the healthcare field.
10. Communicates, advises, answers questions and makes recommendations regarding human resources issues (i.e. policy and procedures, employment, discipline, benefits, union contract interpretation), for both employees and managers/department heads.
11. Oversees the employment function to continually improve upon the recruitment and retention activities of facility and assures compliance with State and Federal regulations in relation to employment.
12. Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, interprets Human Resources policies and procedures.
13. Assists with the facility Health’s Employee Wellness Program.
14. Participates in professional activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments in the personnel area.
15. May be responsible for other Human Resource personnel in their absence.
16. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
17. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer’s needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the facility.

Requirements:
Minimum three years of experience in handling human resources policy issues, problem resolution, recruitment or related human resources activities, preferred.
Appropriate Bachelors Degree required with a concentration in Human Resource Administration preferred.

Shift/Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Compensation:
Starting at $31.25/hr. (to increase based on experience).
May include relocation assistance depending on candidate location.
