Job Description
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) must have one year experience as a registered nurse that includes at least six months as a CRNA. It is preferable that they also possess a minimum of six months experience in a critical care setting. They have advanced skills, knowledge and training and are credentialed to administer anesthesia and provide pain management for infants through adulthood. They must be proficient in all areas of anesthesia from conscious sedation, local and spinal blocks to epidural and general anesthesia for minor procedures through complex surgical cases. Must be proficient in monitoring patients and keeping them hemodynamically stable throughout surgical procedures. CRNAs are used in both the inpatient and outpatient facilities.
