Unit 51 is a 29-bed comprehensive unit specializing in post-operative care patients with acute medical problems, oncology concerns, patients receiving hospice services or palliative care, and the pediatric population.
The LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse on Unit51 is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills in the care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental polices and in accordance with standards of nursing practice. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health Southwest Louisiana Health System, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse program
- Current LPN license from the state of Louisiana
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of scope and role of the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, CNA and Unit Secretary
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
