Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

A-Team Solutions is seeking (3) LPNs needed at Ft McPherson VA Clinic 1701 Hardee Ave., SW Atlanta, GA 30310, shift time for location is M-F 7:30a to 4:00p. No weekends or Holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the LPN works closely with others as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas and Primary Care setting throughout the AVAHCS and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The LPN functions both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee.LPN must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Contractor nurses may be utilized as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, in ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and outpatient lab.
• Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures. Observation and documentation will include patient's response to medication administered and the reporting of any noted change in patient's condition to RN or MD/DO.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact [in an appropriate manner] with patients, family members, professional and [other] supportive personnel [involved in the delivery of] patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.

Requirements:

Candidates are required to be a graduate of a state approved school of practical/vocational nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing or bachelor’s degree in related field is highly preferred. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The minimum requirement for all LPNs assigned to the AVAHCS shall include a current unrestricted LPN license from the state of Georgia (United States), and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.

Primary Care - Minimum three years current experience and (must have worked within the last six months) in a primary care setting
