Job Description
Our multispecialty group in
southeast Massachusetts, is searching for an NP or PA to join our Endocrinology
Division. This Division is staffed by Fellowship-trained physicians, covering
office practices and hospital consultations. We have a strong Primary Care
referral base and southeast Massachusetts has a disproportionate prevalence of
diabetes. The NP or PA will see diabetic patients in two Fall River hospitals,
and will see general endocrinology office patients, working under physician
supervision. The NP or PA will share duties with other mid-level providers on a
rotating schedule, alternating office and hospital.
Office duties include diabetic teaching, initiation of oral/insulin therapy, management of hyperglycemic (and hypoglycemic) states, chronic diabetic care, and management of thyroid conditions. Although less common, other endocrine disease (e.g., adrenal, hypothalamic/pituitary, parathyroid, hypogonadism) are seen. We offer a comprehensive weight management program, osteoporosis management, Men’s Health, and a Thyroid Center offering ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration. In the hospitals, he/she will make rounds, seeing initial and follow-up consultations. Hospital coverage (with supervision) one weekend per month is expected, in exchange for time off during the week. We use an electronic medical record (eClinicalworks) and the hospitals use either Meditech or Epic.
