(Archived) Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our team in Bozeman, MT. The NNP is responsible for providing comprehensive care to acute, convalescing and chronically ill patients in an in-patient setting, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families.
Competencies
- The NNP will work to full scope of practice with MD collaboration and supervision.
- Patient care situations will range from basic to complex in the newborn nursery, NICU, Labor and Delivery, postpartum and ED care settings.
- Demonstrates independence and proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to the practice area including: neonatal resuscitation, intubation, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, umbilical catheter placement, lumbar puncture, arterial puncture, peripheral arterial catheter placement, and PICC placement /maintenance.
- Ability to perform detailed history and physical assessments of the neonate that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant for clinical problem and presentation.
- Up to date knowledge of neonatology principles of practices and management guidelines.
Requirements:
- Master of Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice
- Graduate of an accredited neonatal nurse practitioner program
- Active RN and APRN license in MT
- Montana APRN prescriptive authority
- Active DEA licensure
- Neonatal NP Board Certified
- BLS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in level III/IV NICU as NNP
