About the AREA:

Located in Iowa just over an hour from Omaha and Des Moines.

About the GROUP:

Hospital is a County-owned, Non-profit, Critical Access Hospital.

17 bed Critical Access Hospital, Level IV ED

About the POSITION:

POSITION TITLE

Family Medicine/ED Nurse Practitioner

4 – 10’s in the clinic and ED Coverage.

Prefer at least 3 years’ experience in hospital setting with clinic and ED experience.

AM rounding with physicians

10-hour shifts, 4-day work week (Clinic hours 7-5, M-F) / On campus clinic

One day a week provider will see walk-ins starting at 7am

Dedicated nurse or CMA for each provider

  1. SCHEDULE: Providers are expected to work four days per week covering both the clinic and ED patients. The Provider typically spends 8 hours per day in face-to-face encounters, with the additional 1.5 hours per day used for reviewing records, approving prescriptions, etc. and .5 hour for lunch break.
  2. ENCOUNTERS: The provider’s schedule should average 12-15 patients per day. New patient visits are generally 40 minutes and established patient visits are 20 minutes.) When provider is scheduled for ED and clinic, the clinic patient load will be kept lighter with other providers taking over care of clinic patients if provider called to the ED. Typical volume in the ED is 4 patients per 24 hour day.

Four days per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Shift time hours - 0700 to 1700. When providing primary ED coverage, the shift is from 0700 to 1900.

About the COMP AND BENEFITS:

Excellent Salary

Hospital shall pay up to $1,500 per calendar year (prorated for any partial year) for Employee’s licensing fees, association dues and continuing medical education as authorized and approved by Hospital. Unused amounts do not carry over to future years.

One-time moving relocation expenses up to $5,000 upon submitted receipts

Employee shall receive paid time off for vacation, holidays, continuing education, and illness in accordance with Hospital’s policies. Current starting PTO and paid holidays: 216 hours per year
