Gastro NP:

-This is an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Nurse Practitioner at our Gastroenterology Clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico

-Monday - Friday 8-5 day time position

-No Call, Holidays, or Weekends

Overview of Position:

We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist NP or PA to join our well-respected GI practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The endoscopy center and gastroenterology clinic specializes in adult gastroenterology, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and liver disease.

Essential Functions:

  • Independent Endoscopy Ambulatory Surgery Center plus clinic

  • Exclusive outpatient clinic; M-F between 8am-5pm

  • Treats and assesses treatment of patients; assists physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
  • Administers medications, arranges for referrals, orders and evaluates results of diagnostic tests, and establishes a presumptive diagnosis.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment programs and collaborates with patients, families and healthcare providers in achieving optimal care.
  • Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instruction.

Essential Functions:

  • Interviews new and established patients to perform history and physical examinations and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention
  • Treats and assesses treatment of patients; assists physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care
  • Administers medications, arranges for referrals, orders and evaluates results of diagnostic tests, and establishes a presumptive diagnosis
  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment programs and collaborates with patients, families and healthcare providers in achieving optimal care
  • Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instruction
  • Assesses department’s compliance with regulations and corrects deficiencies within a timely manner
  • Responsible for completing basic competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies

Education: Required – Graduate of an accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program

Experience: Three (3) years of previous experience in a Gastroenterology clinic preferred.

Required Licensure: Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant ; BLS certification.

Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects; ability to function independently or as an effective team member; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; maintain strict patient confidentiality; analytical and problem solving skills
