Job Description
Psych Certified NP's or Geriatric NP's with Psych exp needed for a great hospital in Philadelphia for an inpatient unit, consult service, and local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. You will see a geriatric population 65 and older mainly working primarily with psychiatric, often acute exacerbations of chronic mental illness, commonly co-occurring or independent cognitive and neurological disorders, and various types of dementia. No substance-related disorders, no active detox or withdrawals. High acutiy level is common. Join a large team of 2 psychiatrists and 2 other NP's. Length of stay typically 11-16 days. Mon-Fri with atleast one weekend a month on call. Must have exp in geriatric and/or psych exp working with inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, and geriatric populations. Travel between local assisted living facilities and nursing homes required within 10 miles 2-4 times a week which is a reimbursed travel expense.
