(Archived) Nurse Practitioner - Oncology

Job Description

Our client in College Station, Texas is seeking a nurse practitioner to join their expanding oncology practice! Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of oncology experience, however recent graduates with an applicable background will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Full-time position joining an existing team of physicians and APPs

  • Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Light call schedule - one out of every five weekends

  • Split time roughly 50/50 between clinic visits and hospital rounding

  • Toxicity evaluations, skin biopsies, intra-tumoral injections, etc.

  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures

  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities

  • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner in the oncology field (preferred)

  • Active PA or NP license to practice in the state of Texas (required)

  • Active DEA license (required)

  • BLS/ACLS (required)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients and families
