Nurse Practitioner needed at an Oncology Practice in New Jersey!

This is a full-time, permanent position.

An exciting opening has come available for an Oncology Nurse Practitioner with a fantastic organization located in just outside of Newark, NJ! This is an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Provider that is looking to enhance and diversify their Oncology experience in a more specialized setting.

Job Summary

The NP will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients with a diagnosis of cancer, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, under a medical collaborative agreement. Together with the Nurse, the NP will provide excellent, evidence-based patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking patient education efforts as it relates to chemotherapy, blood replacement products, growth factors as well as psychosocial concerns of patients, family, and caretakers related to a diagnosis of Cancer and the underlying disease.
  • Collaborates with the Infusion nurses and staff in the care and treatment of patients receiving chemotherapy/blood products, growth factors, and supportive care.
  • Completes patient's history and physical exams, reviews laboratory results and orders appropriate tests, provides discharge instructions and patient education, and monitors follow-up appointments.
  • Develops care plans for patients; and documents history, orders, notes and ongoing evaluation of patients.
  • Assures quality of care and standards are maintained; participates in daily rounds; and serves as liaison to referring physicians and external transfers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of experience
  • Current (or willing to obtain) New Jersey NP and RN licenses, as well as board certification
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule and fast pace work environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in hematology and oncology
