About the POSITION

PMHNP needed for Mental Health Director Role

Full time

M-F 8-5

Supervision 50%/Patient Care 50%

Provides staff oversight to the Mental Health Dept.

Directly supervises the provider group, etc.

Periodically reviews and updates policies and procedures as they pertain to the Mental Health Department.

Reviews incident reports

Coordinates clinical Quality Improvement (QI) and clinical measures.

Participates in regular meetings with management staff, representing the providers and other Clinical Services staff.

Participates in discussions and problem solving regarding revenue generation, budget and financial planning, strategic planning, organizational systems patient satisfaction, personnel policies, salaries and benefits, contract provisions and expansion of reduction of staff, facility and services, as these relate to mental health program concerns.

Directly supervise provider group, document annual performance evaluations and other timely feedback to staff.

Facilitate the preparation of the provider clinic schedule.

Convene, facilitate and document regular provider meetings and oversee appropriate follow up of their content. (Record minutes and keep on file)

Facilitate case management and peer review meetings.

Prepare quarterly report for the Board of Directors

Orient and arrange for appropriate clinical supervision and evaluation of new providers.

Serve as representative of clinic at local, state, regional and national meetings by mutual agreement with the Executive Director and the provider group.

Act as a liaison regarding clinical issues for the staff with Region X, US Public Health Service and National Service Corps and other groups and agencies, if appropriate.

Full scope Mental/Behavioral Health

Managing patient medications in conjunction with PCP.

Will treat severe and persistent mental health issues (SPMI), assess and diagnose patients, provide psychotherapy, prescribe medication, handle crisis intervention, etc.

Will provide emergency telephone counseling and support services for patients and community partners (such as the hospital)

Must have an OR license and DEA

Spanish speaking will be given a strong preference
