Job Description
Responsibilities:
Conducts comprehensive history and physicals and provides consults for medical issues for patients admitted for treatment of psychiatric illness and/or substance abuse. Candidates will demonstrate high degree of clinical competency in the following:
- Diagnosis of medical issues
- Management of medication regimens
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and laboratory investigations
- Develop and implement comprehensive plan of care
- Respond to and assist in any emergent or urgent care need with appropriate triage to tertiary level of care when indicated
- Counsel patients and families and provides education with regard to medical illness as well as prevention strategies
- Demonstrate communication skills and works collaboratively
- Ability to practice autonomously with consultation with collaborating physicians as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Masters prepared graduate of accredited APRN program; ANCC certification
- Current Massachusetts license, APRN, NP
- At least 2 year of clinical experience in primary care or acute care setting required, 3 or more years preferred
