Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - (NP-Primary Care) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 08/19/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Locum Tenen AANP or ANCC Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner to provide Outpatient Primary Care coverage for a 3 to 9 month period beginning as soon as credentialed. Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. No Call. Maybe required to work some Saturdays & Sundays. Diagnose, treat and manage veterans with complex medical disease processes in an outpatient setting. Must have at least 5 years of primary care experience. See approximately 50-60 patients per week. Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Site utilizes computerized medical records system.

A primary care nurse practitioner (locum tenens) diagnoses and treat patients, order diagnostics, conduct physical exams, interpret x-rays and other tests, and also educate patients on maintaining proper health. In addition to a nursing license, a primary care nurse practitioner holds a certification as a nurse practitioner, and typically a master's degree. A primary care nurse practitioner works with physicians on duty to help evaluate and treat patients.
