Job Description

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a staff of dedicated, detail-oriented, high-performance medical billing and collections professional in accordance with the company's policies.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to address individual needs of each member of the Billing and Collections Team
  • Recommend and develop appropriate internal policies and procedures according to mandates of governmental and contracted agencies, third parties, and Company standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize your demonstrated and thorough knowledge of all phases of the revenue cycle process including scheduling, financial determination, charge capture, coding, billing, claim follow-up, denial management, cash posting, credit resolutions, etc. to ensure outstanding and predictable cash collections performance for the Company.
  • Review and approve refunds, write-offs and adjustments on accounts as defined in Company policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with current federal and state regulations as well as insurance specific contractual guidelines related to billing and collections policies, payments, adjustments, and write-offs.

Qualifications and Job Info

  • Must successfully pass drug and AHCA Level 2 screenings
  • Must be approved for EPIC access by Memorial Health Systems
  • Must demonstrate a track record of embodying Company Norms and the ability to develop and manage a Team on an ongoing basis within those Norms.
  • Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing guidelines as they relate to billing and collecting high-value medical services is required.
  • Demonstrated a track record of exercising independent judgement in stressful situations that leads to solving problems and high levels of Team functioning.
  • Must have the flexibility to travel between all locations within Broward County and be willing to work at any one of them for extended periods, as the needs of the Company necessitate.
  • Must have a basic understanding of accounting and how the billing and collection activities impact the Company financial statements.
