Shifts 6:30 am to 3:30 pm (but it can vary)
No Call
Weekend Requirements As needed (very rare)

Reports to: Director of Med/Surg
Supervises: RNs, LPNs, CNA, Unit Secretaries, Telemetry Technicians and PCTs
# of FTES in the department: 52
# of beds in the unit: 41

Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse Manager is a registered, professional nurse who supervises and directs the nursing care of the Med/Surg Department according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and strategic goals of the organization. The Clinical Nurse Manager provides leadership, clinical expertise and operational direction on a daily basis to the direct care staff to efficiently achieve quality, patient-focused care in a professional service excellence environment. The Clinical Nurse Manager will engage the Staff through the utilization of staff empowerment. At times this position will support the staff by participating in direct patient care. Scheduled hours include days, evenings, and nights as necessary for dept. needs.

Training and Experience: Must have 5 years clinical nursing experience within area of specialty, with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have strong critical thinking and process management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Ability to maintain high energy working under stress and exhibit emotional maturity, stability and flexibility. BCLS required. ACLS & PALS preferred; must obtain within 1 year of employment. Computer experience required: MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows Operating System. EPIC preferred.
