Correct Care Recovery Solutions (CCRS) has partnered with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections to comprehensively manage and provide medical and mental health care, forensic mental health evaluation and treatment, substance abuse treatment and dental services to patients at Bridgewater State Hospital. Overview

Our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is charged with the effective management and supervision of the nursing staff and operations of the facility. In addition, the ADON collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer and other members of the healthcare team to ensure that all patients receive appropriate healthcare services.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, including (3) years of supervisory experience in psychiatric settings.
  • Strong knowledge of State regulations/Medicare/Medicaid/Joint Commission guidelines required.
  • Must be computer literate. Knowledge of EMR required.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of Massachusetts.
  • Specialty nursing certification preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all nursing staff. Completes performance reviews for direct reports and provides input to evaluation of staff reporting to Nurse Managers or Nurse Supervisors. Performs other supervisory responsibilities typically assumed by a manager including hiring, discipline, termination recommendations, performance improvement plans, and coaching.
  • Oversees utilization by review of assigned staff and evaluates additional staff needs on a shift-to-shift basis by considering the acuity and census on each residential unit.
  • Evaluates quality of care through chart audits, patient/staff interviews, interdisciplinary team conferences and patient care rounds. Ensures the implementation of individualized treatment plan and other aspects of patient care.
  • Acts as a resource to Nurse Managers and Supervisors in addressing patient care issues.
  • Develops and implements performance improvement surveys to monitor documentation and clinical practice in all residential units and clinic/infirmary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
