The Nurse Manager MAT is responsible for the direct clinical and administrative oversight of the assigned unit(s). This position provides supervision of nursing staff for the provision of MAT nursing process that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive psychiatric and medical care plan in an addiction recovery environment. Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities as assigned. Initiates, participates and fosters interdisciplinary team to facilitate the best patient experience and positive clinical outcome.

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a staff Registered Nurse in correctional, psychiatric or SUD nursing
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  1. Plans, coordinates, facilitates and supervises patient-centered, cost effective care of patients with Opioid Use Disorder that are receiving MAT delivered by licensed nurses, technical and clerical staff for assigned unit(s); assigns responsibilities to unit staff, supervises documentation within the medical record and oversees the therapeutic addiction recovery environment;
  2. Responsible for ensuring that medical records for patients are in full compliance with facility or clinic policies, federal and state laws and regulations at all times; will review medical records to ensure medical compliance;
  3. Oversees Quality Assurance activities and compliance to operational standards, participates in program development, development or implementation of operating policy and procedure, and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, as requested;
  4. Assists in the recruitment, hiring and training of new staff;
  5. Works with the Clinical Supervisor/Mental Health staff, and support staff to implement best practices for office-based opioid treatment and care coordination;
  6. Provides services including but not limited to MAT patient screenings, dosing and scheduling appointments;
  7. Assists in assessment of patient interest in and appropriateness for the MAT program; assists with managing MAT patient registries to promote patient care plan adherence, follow up and appointment scheduling;
  8. Attends MAT collaborative meetings and team meetings;
  9. Provides direct program support and administrative services for the MAT staff; motivates staff, guides problem identification and solving and facilitates constructive resolution of conflict;
  10. Conducts unit level staff meetings with a staff training component;
  11. Evaluates staff on assigned unit utilizing performance evaluation tools generates reports relating to delivery of healthcare; collects data and formulates analyses and action plans.
  12. Document needed patient information in an accurate, concise, and timely manner; demonstrate competence in information management in both written and electronic documentation systems;
  13. Facilitates patient education and access to healthcare and community resources; facilitates continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities, including routine communication with SUD treatment centers;
  14. Monitors, reports and assists with resolution of safety issues;
  15. Assists in collection and reporting of clinical and demographic data relevant to patients assigned to MAT registries; assists in collecting pertinent data related to MAT patient population from outside agencies;
  16. Continues professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences and self-study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position; complies with Human Resource requirements;
  17. Communicates and collaborates with providers and all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team as needed to facilitate MAT patient registries, care delivery appointments and community outreach activities;
  18. Works in partnership with addiction facilities, mental health and primary care agencies toward goals of collaborated care for patients;
  19. Participates with other community agencies to share knowledge that will improve quality of care for the MAT patient population; promotes and models collaborative relationships with all partner agencies; recognizes the cultural diversity of patients and their families, employees, medical staff, volunteers, and community members play in achieving productive and positive relationships;
  20. Assists with MAT grant tracking, including data entry to track MAT program accomplishments, outcomes, patient volume, revenue, etc.;
  21. Manages the Suboxone provider roster;
  22. Manages DEAx roster for individual providers;
  23. Help assure compliance with Federal, State and program guidelines and requirements pertaining to the care of patients with opioid use disorder; safeguard all forms (electronic, written and oral) of confidential information as it relates to patients, their families, medical staff and employees;
  24. Perform other duties as assigned.
