Position: Manager - 3rd Shift Lab Operations
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: Full Time / Permanent / Direct Hire

Shift openings: 3rd Shift Lab Operations

Job Summary:

  • Provide third shift management oversight of laboratory operations. Provides support to team members by assisting with trouble shooting complex issues, ensuring efficient operational workflows, and escalating issues to appropriate department leadership. Full Time, 3rd shift. Hours may vary based on laboratory needs.

Specific Job Experience:

  • Manages the daily operational needs of the entire laboratory on the third shift, ensuring consistent workflows are maintained in each department to meet the off sift requirements.
  • Oversees testing performance, ensuring accurate and timely results are produced to meet the work load demands of the off shift needs.
  • Serves as an effective conduit to other laboratory leadership with support on addressing staff performance issues, process improvements initiatives, meeting key quality indicators, and promoting a productive work environment.
  • When faced with staffing shortfalls, adjusts work assignments of team members to meet/exceed turnaround time expectations, and follow guidelines established by each department.
  • Using the laboratory info system, ensures accurate and pertinent data generation, retention and retrieval.
  • Addresses supply issues as needed

Requirements:

  • Degree: BS Degree in Biology, Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or BioChemistry: required
    • Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 additional year of Medical Technology training.: Required
  • Certification: Certified in the area of Clinical Laboratory Science by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists: preferred
    • ​or eligible must obtain within 1 year of employment: required
  • Experience: 5 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory: required
    • Experience in a generalist role: preferred
  • Leadership: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role:
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members
