Job Description

Maxim Healthcare is searching for Clinic Occupational Health Registered Nurses RNs. Under the supervision of the Practice Administrator, RNs will plan and implement nursing care for employees in an occupational health clinic, clinics are open 7 days per week 6am-11pm. Current openings include multiple 13 week contracts, 12 hour shifts, 6am-6pm or 11ap-11pm, including weekends. Nurses may provide telephonic nursing via the employee health hotline and/or direct nursing care in an occupational health setting, including, but not limited to taking basic vital signs, checking charts, and scheduling with physicians.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Performs assessments of employee-patient based on his/her physical, psychological and cognitive status
  • Plans proper nursing intervention, obtains appropriate medical and support services. Documents according to P.H. policy
  • Identifies learning needs of the employee-patient. Develops individualized plan to meet these needs
  • Counsels appropriately
  • Identifies employee’s needs for wellness promotion, developing and participating in employee education plans
  • Evaluates employee-patient’s lab data, alerting appropriate personnel for abnormal results that threaten the individual and/or hospital staff and patients
  • Maintains and seeks new technical skills relevant to the clinical setting
  • Demonstrates an awareness and use of hospital policy and procedure, regulatory and legal requirements in daily practice
  • Participates in quality monitoring
  • Participates on hospital committees and/or in orientation of new employees
  • Participates in medical surveillance protocols, including blood drawing, giving vaccines, obtaining urine specimens for drug testing, placing and reading tuberculin skin tests, and counseling
  • Identifies emergent situations and institutes corrective actions
  • Safeguards the confidentiality of all employee-patients
  • Promotes the professional image of Workforce Health & Safety
  • Competent to care for patients based upon the age group treated
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • BSN is required or Master in Nursing
  • Current active, unrestricted RN License
  • CPR/BLS certified
  • Two years’ experience in medical/surgical, occupational health, ambulatory care or emergency setting, strongly preferred
