Observation and Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse wanted in central Tennessee

Days and nights available, 7-7 shifts

This 25-bed observation unit specializes in the care of cardiac and vascular patients ranging in age from adulthood to geriatric. Adults with acute medical or surgical requires 23 hour observation and constitutes the majority of the admissions. Nurse to patient ratio 5/6:1 depending on shift.

Special procedures performed on the cardiovascular unit include but not limited to:

• Antiplatelet therapy
• Antiarrhythmic therapy
• Post Pacemaker
• Interventional Cardiology Care
• Monitoring ER patients who require further testing

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. MUST have CCU Experience
2. BLS and ACLS Certifications
3. Critical Care class preferred or within three years of hire as staffing allows
4. Intermediate Arrhythmia class
