Seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse Surgery!
Shift: Days and Nights (rotating weekends)
Description:
The department of surgery is comprised of seven units that provide a wide range of services. The Operating Room consists of thirteen suites dedicated to performing a wide array of surgical interventions. Specialties include cardiac and neurology services with one of the only kidney transplant programs in the area. The Endoscopy lab has multiple rooms dedicated to providing procedural services. The Pre Admission Testing, Ambulatory Services, Anesthesia, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and sterile processing units all provide support for department volumes that exceed 10,000 procedures annually.
Position Description:
Under the indirect supervisors of the unit, the RN is expected to implement the nursing process (including use of nursing diagnosis), document nursing activities and intervention plan, as well as medication administered. The RN provides leadership and supervises the care, maintenance and activities of the surgical suite.
Education/Experience:
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. One year of experience as OR Circulator, either in a hospital setting or surgical center.
Preferred: Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree.
Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Current Certification as BLS Healthcare Proivder
Preferred: CNOR
