Certified Nurse Anesthetist
Prepares prescribed solutions and administers anesthetic following specified methods and procedures. Informs physician of patient's condition during anesthesia. Performs pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits and documents anesthesia notes on patient records. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. CRNA’s perform general, regional and sedation anesthesia for all patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and/or therapeutic procedures.
Successful completion of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia. Relevant training and/or clinical experience required for AHP Staff appointment. Previous experience as a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) preferred. Regional anesthesia skills desired.
Required certifications/licenses: WV-RN License, L-WV-CRNA, C-NBCRNA-CRNA, AHA PALS, AHA BLS Basic Cardiac, AHA ACLS
