Job Description
The RN Activities Coordinator supervises the therapeutic, recreational, and social activities
designed to meet the needs of retired religious women. We are searching for a
Part-Time (3 days a week) Activities Coordinator who will provide an
integrative and holistic program of activities for the Sisters in residence. These
women have a wide range of physical and cognitive capabilities. Consistent interaction
with the Sisters, who are basically independent or may require assistance. The
Coordinator works in collaboration with the food service and nursing staff on
an on-going basis in the development of plans for activities. External working relationships include
working with those individuals who provide entertainment and activities such as
librarian, musicians, and organizations that are invited for social interaction.
Required
Diploma from an accredited school of nursing
- One or more years
experience working with the elderly preferred.
- Certification as an Activity Therapy Professional or completion of related training course work (i.e. Recreational Therapy) - preferred.
- Ability to plan and direct an activities program.
- Possess leadership abilities.
- Possess necessary social graces to deal effectively with residents, fellow employees and the public.
- Conscientious, creative, responsible, and self-initiative.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Adequate writing ability to chart in resident’s records.
- Demonstrates respect for co-workers and responds to the needs of the Sisters while complying with facility policies.
